The Charter Experience

01

Selecting the Perfect Yacht

Collaborate with your broker to define your vision. Consider the yacht style (Motor, Sailing, Explorer), the number of cabins needed, and amenities like beach clubs or jacuzzis. Most importantly, we match you with a crew profile that suits your vibe.

02

Destination & Seasonality

Timing is everything. The Mediterranean (Greece, Riviera, Italy) peaks from May to September, while the Caribbean is prime from December to April. We help you map out a bespoke itinerary, balancing popular hot spots with secluded anchorages.

03

The MYBA Contract

The industry standard is the MYBA Charter Agreement. It clearly outlines the charter fee, which covers the yacht and crew. You will sign the contract and secure the vessel with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance, along with taxes and APA, is due one month prior.

04

Understanding the APA

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is typically 30-40% of the base fee. It acts as a transparent bank account for the Captain to provision the yacht with your preferred food, fine wines, fuel, and dockage fees. Any unspent funds are fully refunded at the end of the trip.

05

The Preference Sheet

A few weeks before boarding, you will fill out a detailed preference sheet. This covers everything from dietary requirements and favorite champagne brands to preferred daily routines. This ensures the crew anticipates your every need before you even step aboard.

06

Yacht Etiquette & Gratuity

Pack soft-sided luggage (hard suitcases are difficult to store aboard). The "barefoot rule" applies inside the cabin to protect the teak and carpets. Finally, while discretionary, a customary crew gratuity is 10% to 20% of the base charter fee, handed to the Captain at the end of a successful voyage.
